Sliding Windows

Sliding windows have operating sashes that move horizontally along tracks within a frame. The operable sash slides on one plane while the fixed sash sits on another — or in some configurations, all sashes slide on different planes. When the sashes slide horizontally, it’s a horizontal sliding window. When they slide vertically, they’re called single or double hungs. Configurations

Two-sash slider — one operating sash slides past a fixed sash
Three-sash slider — two operating sashes on the outside slide toward a fixed center sash
All-sliding configuration — all sashes slide on separate tracks, with no fixed sash

Pre-Hung & Ready to Install

Sliding windows come prefit in frames with hardware installed. All sashes are machined for necessary hardware like rollers and balances, then tested for smooth operation before shipment. Weatherstripping is included where necessary. Frames come with a sloped sill for water management. Exterior moulding is applied if requested.

Wood Species & Construction

Built from solid lumber in your specified species — Douglas fir, clear pine, mahogany, white oak, and others. Mortise and tenon joinery throughout. Each sash is sized to your opening.

Glass & Divided Lites

Insulated glass with Low-E for Title 24, or single-pane for historic work. True divided lite (TDL) or simulated divided lite (SDL) in any muntin pattern.

Hardware & Screens

Sliding windows use cam-action locks at the meeting stile. Rollers are adjustable for smooth operation. Screens are supplied with an aluminum surround; a wood screen frame is also available as an option.

Matching Existing Windows

For additions and restorations, we can replicate existing slider profiles, sash configuration, and muntin patterns — even if the original manufacturer is no longer in business.
