Moulding

We manufacture and match all standard moulding profiles, including:

• Baseboard — Covers the joint between the wall and floor. Available in profiles ranging from simple square-edge to ornate stepped and beaded designs.
• Casing — Frames doors and windows. We offer traditional colonial, Craftsman, and custom casing profiles.
• Crown moulding — Decorative trim installed where walls meet the ceiling. Profiles include cove, ogee, dentil, and custom combinations.
• Chair rail — Protects walls from chair backs while adding architectural detail. Available in any profile.
• Panel moulding — Applied to walls to create wainscoting and picture-frame panels.
• Shoe moulding — Flexible trim that covers the gap between baseboard and flooring.
• Brick mould — Exterior casing used around doors and windows to bridge the gap between the frame and siding.

Our custom profile matching service allows us to replicate any existing moulding profile — whether you need to match a 1920s craftsman baseboard or a one-of-a-kind crown moulding from a historic estate.

The process is straightforward:

1. Provide a sample — Send us a short piece (6–12 inches) of the moulding you need matched. Alternatively, provide a detailed profile drawing or cross-section.
2. Knife grinding — Our in-house knife grinding capability allows us to create custom moulder knives that exactly replicate your profile. We do not rely on third-party grinding services, which means faster turnaround and quality control.
3. Sample approval — We produce a sample length for your approval before running the full order.
4. Production run — Once approved, we run the moulding in your specified wood species and quantity.

Turnaround time for custom profile matching is typically 2–4 weeks. Standard profiles in stock species can ship within 1–2 weeks.

We run moulding in the following wood species:

• Douglas Fir — The most common choice for structural and exterior moulding. Tight grain, warm color, and excellent durability.
• Clear Pine — Ideal for painted interior moulding. Lightweight and easy to work with.
• POP (Poplar) — A smooth, fine-grained hardwood that paints exceptionally well. Popular for interior casing and base.
• Oak — For stain-grade moulding where the natural grain is a design feature.
• Mahogany — Premium hardwood for high-end stain-grade moulding. Rich color and exceptional stability.
• Redwood — Naturally resistant to moisture and insects. Ideal for exterior applications.

Custom species are available upon request. Interior and exterior moulding can be specified in different species to optimize for both performance and budget.
