A pivot application is typically used in large openings and/or to present a
contemporary look. When doors are too heavy to be hinged of a frame then they can be operated like a Pivot door. Pivot application is typically used for single and pair of doors. The pivot points are anywhere from 8” to 12” from the sides. Pivot hinges are machined onto the top and bottom of the door. Hinge components also need to be machined onto the Jamb head (top horizontal member of frame) and Sill or Floor.
